I was counting on that Smart Balance milk to hold us over for at least a week, but my kids won't drink it. Since I'm lactose-free, I gave the three half-gallons I got yesterday at Meijer to a friend and ran out for more milk. While I was at Jewel anyway, I thought I'd pick up a few of the sale items I saw on MashupMom.
Ended up with eight 2-ltrs of soda (0.75 after instant savings), 12 cans of vegetables (0.39 after instant savings), and the gallon of milk ($2.77, on sale). The first $5 came off no problem, but the second didn't. I'm thinking the Sierra Mist wasn't on the deal, even though I asked an employee in the soda aisle and was told it was. The guy at the register was very nice and took off the $5 for me anyway, and it wasn't until I got home that I realized what my mistake might have been.
Anyway, I used two $1/4 Pepsi coupons I picked up at Walgreen's weeks ago, $6 in Walgreen's Register Rewards, and $4.99 in cash. Total cost $10.99 with a savings of $30.76. My husband will be thrilled, as he runs on Pepsi most of the time!
