Target Shopping

I did tell y'all that I don't usually go to Target for food, so I guess I broke my own rules today! The canned veggies were just so darn cheap and our family eats a LOT of veggies. Since the coupons for the veggies were expiring today, I headed off to Target, with my active sleep-deprived 2-yr old in tow. Here's what I bought:

30 cans Del Monte veggies (yes, 30!). These don't expire until 2013 and my guess is we'll use them all by Christmas. On sale for .45/ea. Used six $1/5 coupons from the 9/12 RP.

1 head lettuce, $1.49. Used $1 off fresh produce printable from Target website.

3 lbs apples, $2.99 on sale. Used $1 off fresh fruit coupon from Target that came in the mail.

1 loaf sandwich bread, $1.14. Used $1/1 any bread coupon from Target that came in the mail.

1 box Barilla pasta, $1.74. Used $1.00/1 printable and stacked with .50/1 any boxed pasta coupon from Target that came in the mail.

3 cans Cream of Chicken soup, $1.50. Used $1.50/3 printable.

4 boxes Stove Top stuffing, $3.16. Used two $1/2 printables and stacked with two .50/2 Target printables.

2 boxes Chex cereal, to be used in our traditional Thanksgiving day Puppy Chow, $4.00. Used $1/2 any Chex printable.

3 Jars Heinz Gravy, $2.37. Used $1/3 printable.

Total was $14.53 with a savings of $36.86. Some of this food is headed straight to the food pantries....namely the Stove Top (which my family won't eat) and the Campbell's soups (which were free, and again, my family won't eat). I'll only buy items for the food pantry (when they're free) if the shelves are well-stocked for others. There's plenty left at Target! If you want to see the coupon match-ups, go here.

And if you're heading out the door anyway, check out their sale on Glade. Buy any five items, get a $5 gift card back. There are a bunch of Glade coupons in the 11/7 SS, and you can buy five candles for $12.50, use five coupons to bring it down to $7.50, and then subtract the $5 you get back for a net cost of just .50/candle! Not a bad price, and these would be great to throw in for a teacher's gift.....
