Early Morning Wag's

Went to Walgreen's this morning in search of the Vick's Sinex, which is part of the Vicks RR deal (buy 2/$10, get $5 back). I had a few of the $4/1 coupons from the 10/10 PG to make this a little moneymaker. Unfortunately my Wag's has been out of this product for weeks and today the shelves were still bare. So instead I bought a few Christmas treats....

Four bags of M&M's, $10. Used two $1/2 from the 11/14 RP.

I tried to pay with two Jingle Cash rewards from last Thursday's deals, but the register beeped. For those of you who don't know, Walgreen's has a silly little rule that the number of coupons you use can't exceed the number of items in your cart. Evidently the $1/2 coupon was counting as two coupons, so I had to find a few "fillers" to bring the total number of items in my cart up to six. Grabbed a few votives, on sale 6/$1 with in-ad coupon, and the register finally liked my Jingle Cash. I really wanted to roll the Jingle Cash, so I'm ok with this.

Total was $8.99 and I paid with $7.50 in Jingle Cash and $1.49 in cash. Got back a $5 Jingle Cash for the M&M's for a net cost of $3.99.

The Jingle Cash for the soda and the Gillette didn't print at Walgreen's, but the manager couldn't have been nicer. He gave me the money on a gift card, which I think is better than Jingle Cash since it never expires! My total cost at Walgreen's was $34.34 and I paid with $7.50 in RR and $26.84 in cash. Got back $30.00 in Jingle Cash (RR) and $4.85 on a gift card and will send in for the $3.49 MIR for the Planter's. Up $2.64 at Wag's, or $2.20 if you figure in the cost of the stamp!

My total at CVS was $22.31. I paid with $8 in ECB and $14.31 on a gift card. Got back $27.86 in ECB for a profit of $5.55.

Net PROFIT for the morning: $7.75. That was fun shopping! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Walgreen's Shopping

Did my usual early morning shopping at Walgreen's! CVS sales are kind of a dud for me, so I'm done for the day. Here's what I bought:

8 Kleenex, .79 with in-ad coupon. Used two .50/3 from the 10/3 SS and two B3G1 Free from the 11/7 SS.

5 Tic-Tacs, .99 with in-ad coupon. Used five .75/1 from the 10/3 RP.

1 Colgate Clinical Toothpaste, $3.49. Used $1/1 printable.

1 Huggies Little Movers, $8.99. Used $2/1 from the 11/14 SS.

Total cost after coupons was $16.26. Received $3 RR for the Kleenex, $2 Jingle Cash for the Diapers and $2.50 Jingle Cash for the toothpaste. Net cost $8.76 (of which $1.84 was tax!).

The cashier took off .79 for each of my Kleenex that were free, since that's what I was paying with the in-ad coupon. With coupons and sales, it worked out to .74/8 boxes, or only 9 cents each! It can matter which order you hand over the coupons....if I had handed over the B3G1 first, the cashier could have taken off $1.39 for each one (the pre-sale price). Then my cost would have been $2.54 with $3 back and this would have been a money maker. But the .79 is what I'm actually paying for the Kleenex, so I told the cashier up-front that I was going to be using that coupon ☺

Getting Ready for Wags

There are plenty of sites that cover all the Walgreen's deals. I'm just giving you the top deals I see at Walgreen's tommorrow:

  • Nabisco Cookies or Crackers, 4-8 oz. .99 with in-ad coupon. Use $1/1 5.5 oz from the 11/14 SS for possible FREE crackers (depends on what is included in the sale). Or, use $1/1 from Facebook here.
  • Tic Tac, 0.99 with in-ad coupon. Use .75/1 from the 10/3 RP.
  • Huggies Diapers, $8.99 with $2 Jingle Cash (RR). Use $2/1 from the 11/14 SS. There's also supposed to be a $2.50/1 here, but I can't find it.
  • Playtex Tampons, 2/$8 with $2 Jingle Cash (RR). Use two $2/1 from here
  • Hall Cough Drops, $1 off with in-ad coupon. Use $1/2 Refresh from the 11/7 SS (if included).
  • Colgate Pro Clinical Toothpaste, $3.49 with $2.50 Jingle Cash (RR). Use $1/1 from here for FREE toothpaste!
  • Kleenex, .79 with in-ad coupon. Buy four. Use .50/3 from the 10/3 SS and B3G1 FREE from the 11/7 SS. You should get $1 back thru 11/28 for a net cost of .22/box. The catalina was active at Wags a few weeks ago and should still be going!

Sunday Morning Shopping

I love my early morning Sunday shopping. I'm usually out the door before any of the kids are up, and I get to listen to my music in the car. What a treat! Here's what I bought this morning:

Walgreens:
4 Bags Pretzel M&M's, $10.00. Used four $1/1 from facebook.
2 Welch's Sparkling Juise, $6.00. Used $2/2 printable and $1/2 Wags coupon.
24 ct Ibuprofin, $1.79. Used FREE catalina coupon I got last week.
Kids-Eez Cold and Flu, $4.99.
4 Gain dishwashing liquid, .89 with in-ad coupon. Used four $1/1 from the 10/10 PG.

Total was $14.55 and I received $10 RR back ($5 for M&M's, $5 for Kids-Eez) for a net cost of $4.55.

CVS:
2-ltr Sierra Mist, 0.99. Used $1/1 from the $60 Dom's booklet.
Fiber-One Bars, $3.99. Used .50/1 printable from smartsource.
2 CVS Flash cameras, $7.99 with BOGO free sale. Because my 11 yo is heading out on a school-sponsored 3-day field trip to Atwood Nature Center tomorrow!

Total was $11.48 with $3.00 ECB back for a net cost of $8.48 making my entire cost $13.03 for today (and $8 of that was the cameras!). CVS was out of the Vitality toothbrushes I was after, but come to find out they've been out for weeks. I did get a raincheck, and my coupon doesn't expire until Dec. 31st, so I'm hoping they get some in before then. Did you know that at CVS, the rainchecks include the ECB's and never expire? Make sure you get a raincheck next time you can't find what you're looking for!

Walgreens: Pretzel M&M's

Pretzel M & M's 1.14 Oz. Bag (Pack of 4)

I decided to try out the Pretzel M&M's on the RR deal this week, and they ARE included! I'll post my shopping trip after I get back from CVS, but here's the deal on the M&M's:

Buy four bags of Pretzel M&M's (9.9 oz, the big bag), on sale for $10.00. Use four $1/1 coupons from facebook (just "like" them to print, and two prints per computer/facebook account here). Pay $6 and get a $5 RR, for a net cost of 0.25/bag!

Kleenex stock-up

I read about this on MashupMom, and since I had to run out to pick up a presciption anyway, decided to give it a go. Worked like a charm.

At Walgreen's, I bought eight of the 200-count boxes of Kleenex, regularly priced at $1.99. I used two of the buy 3 get 1 free fromthe 11/7 SS and two of the 0.50/3 from the 10/3 SS. I also used the in-ad coupon which makes each box only $1.09. My total was $4.42 and I got $3 back, for a net cost of $1.42, or 0.18 each!

I also noticed that when I pay with my credit card, I get more coupons back from the Catalina machine. Even though my total was under $5, I used my credit card and received several great coupons, including a Walgreen's coupon for a FREE box of Ibuprofin or Acetaminophen!

Thanks, MashupMom!

Sunday Drustore Shopping

I hit both Walgreen's and CVS this morning. Here's what I bought:

Schick Xtreme Razors, $5.99. Used $3/1 printable.

The register beeped at the Libby's coupon, but the cashier pushed it through. I tried to buy three toothbrushes, but the register beeped at my first coupon. The cashier pushed through the first two but couldn't get the third to go, so I only bought two. Expect trouble when using these coupons!

Six Neutra-Air canisters, $15.00. Used six $1.50/1 from 10/17 SS.

Total cost for all of the above: $19.57 with a savings of $69.83.
